About The Position

The Location Manager acts as the owner of the location and is responsible for all activities there. The role focuses on business success, including customer satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, process efficiency, employee safety, and employee development. The manager hires, trains, supervises, and reviews employees; implements company safety programs and the ISO Quality Management System; oversees seed quality and production; communicates strategy; ensures adequate staffing; develops and monitors the annual location budget; evaluates capacity and recommends capital improvements; and initiates problem-solving to improve performance.

Requirements

Understanding of seed production or at least four years of related experience.
Computer skills; advanced skills preferred.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Employee team-building skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

A four-year college degree in Agriculture.
An agricultural background.
Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

Hire, train, and supervise all employees at the location.
Conduct annual reviews with all employees.
Provide a safe work environment by fully implementing company safety programs.
Ensure customer satisfaction for seed produced, processed, or distributed from the location.
Maximize production of seed that meets all quality specifications.
Implement the ISO Quality Management System as it applies to the location and serve as the location ISO Management Representative.
Communicate overall business and location strategy to location employees.
Ensure adequate staffing of location processes to meet customer and business needs.
Develop the annual location budget and monitor spending throughout the production year.
Evaluate location capacity against needs and recommend capital improvements.
Initiate problem-solving to improve location performance as needs arise.
