About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Local Class A Dry Van Driver to join its safety-conscious team in San Jose, California. The route is local and provides daily home time. The schedule is 10 AM to 9 PM, averaging 50–60 hours per week. Pay is $30 per hour. Compensation includes hourly wages for all on-duty non-driving time as well as mileage pay. The role involves operating tractor-trailer units and other vehicles while transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste, following safety practices and applicable company and Department of Transportation requirements.

Requirements

• Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Minimum of 12 months of Class A driving experience.
• Required HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
• Ability to effectively use required technology, such as mobile applications and computer software.

Responsibilities

• Make health and safety the top priority by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely at all times.
• Operate tractor-trailer units and other vehicles.
• Adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of units.
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and secure loads properly.
• Placard vehicles according to company and Department of Transportation requirements and regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
