About The Position
Clean Harbors is hiring a Local Class A Dry Van Driver for its team in San Jose, California. The route is local, offers daily home time, and averages 50–60 hours per week. The shift is 10 AM–9 PM, and the listed pay is $30 per hour. Compensation includes hourly wages for all on-duty non-driving time as well as mileage pay. The driver operates tractor-trailer units and other vehicles, transports hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and performs loading, securing, placarding, and required reporting duties while following safety practices and applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Class A CDL.
- At least 12 months of Class A driving experience.
- Required HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
- Ability to effectively use required technology, including mobile applications and computer software.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize health and safety by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely at all times.
- Operate tractor-trailer units and other vehicles.
- Adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of units.
- Ensure hazardous and non-hazardous waste is properly loaded and unloaded, and secure loads properly.
- Placard vehicles according to company and Department of Transportation requirements and regulations.
- Maintain daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
