About The Position

Waste Connections is seeking a reliable and hardworking Local CDL Driver in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The driver safely and efficiently collects and transports waste to designated disposal sites, with a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and environmental responsibility. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday. Pay is $26–$30 per hour.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Strong knowledge of local streets and routes.
Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety.
Ability to lift and load items weighing 50 pounds or more and to stand, walk, bend, and climb into the truck multiple times a day.
Comfort working in various weather conditions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Steady working history.
Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.

Nice To Haves

Two years of commercial driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate trash trucks on assigned routes to collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste.
Load waste materials safely and efficiently using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections and promptly report mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team.
Perform routine vehicle cleaning and maintenance to support compliance with safety standards.
Follow safety protocols, company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal waste-management and transportation regulations.
Use required and provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
Interact courteously with customers and the public, respond professionally to questions or concerns, and resolve service issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of daily routes, collected waste, incidents, and other issues, and submit required documentation on time.
