About The Position

Red Baron Transportation, a division of BWT Logistics, is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Local CDL-A Driver for operations in New Castle, Delaware. The position is primarily yard-based and involves moving trailers between the yard and warehouse docks, with occasional short shuttle runs to customer sites to retrieve preloaded trailers. The driver is expected to maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company requirements while supporting safe, efficient operations and providing professional customer service. This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position scheduled from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with the driver home daily. Equipment includes a 2026 Freightliner and dry van and container equipment. Freight is no-touch, and work consists primarily of yard operations with limited local shuttle runs. Overtime opportunities are available based on business needs. Pay is $24.00 per hour. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid holidays and PTO, are available after 90 days. Steel-toe boots and a high-visibility vest are required; additional PPE is provided as needed. Opportunities for advancement within RBT/BWT Logistics are available.

Requirements

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A).
At least three years of Class A driving experience.
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Current DOT Medical Card.
Registration with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify vehicle maintenance concerns.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules and operational needs.
Steel-toe boots and a high-visibility safety vest are required.

Responsibilities

Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
Move trailers between the yard and warehouse docks to support daily operations.
Perform short shuttle runs to customer locations as needed.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Use Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and other electronic systems as required.
Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse teams, customers, and management.
Handle trailers and equipment safely and securely.
Promptly report maintenance issues, safety concerns, accidents, or delays.
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
Provide exceptional customer service and represent Red Baron Transportation professionally.
Follow company safety procedures and operational standards.
