About The Position

Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution, Inc. is seeking a professional, skilled Local Delivery Driver for its Branch Operations group at the Cape Coral, Florida branch. The driver safely operates company trucks to deliver products promptly to customer and company locations. Duties include safely loading, unloading, and transferring products using equipment and forklifts at the branch, in trucks and trailers, and at delivery sites. The position also provides high-quality customer service and supports warehouse and front-counter operations as needed. Requirements

At least two consecutive years of commercial vehicle driving experience.
Current valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
Must meet and pass Department of Transportation standards, including annual DOT screening.
Must successfully pass forklift training and delivery-truck driving tests through the company's Prove it Pass it training within 30 working days of the start date.
Ability to safely operate a flatbed or box truck and forklift as needed.
Ability to safely load and transfer products to designated locations promptly without causing damage.
High attention to detail and surroundings.
Ability to follow established branch, driving, and warehouse policies and practices.
Good judgment, strong work ethic, integrity, compliance, and results orientation.
Dependability, teamwork, and ability to build positive working relationships with employees and customers.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills, including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and orders.
Ability to multitask and assist with warehouse, front-counter, or branch duties as needed.
Must be reliable and able to work assigned hours and days.
High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED.
Ability to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of warehouse or logistics experience.
Previous training operating forklifts and delivery trucks.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and deliver products safely to customer sites within designated time frames using efficient routes.
Maintain required logs and reports to comply with Department of Transportation and company safety and vehicle-operation policies.
Load, block, brace, and secure cargo properly.
Follow applicable driving, traffic, and transportation laws and regulations.
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transfer, load, and unload products, ensuring accuracy of products and quantities.
Complete required pre-check and post-check procedures for company vehicles and forklifts.
Perform warehouse duties and ensure products and quantities are accurate when loading or transferring orders for customers.
Immediately notify the manager of accidents, damage, violations, and concerns so corrective measures can be taken.
Follow housekeeping and safety practices.
Provide backup support for warehouse and/or front-counter operations as needed.
Perform additional projects and duties to support business needs.
