About The Position

The Lobby Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas, restrooms, and other back-of-house areas. This role ensures that assigned hotel public areas, including employee areas, are cleaned and serviced in a timely and organized manner according to established procedures and standards. The attendant will also manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely, ensuring follow-up to maintain high guest satisfaction. Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, adhering to safety policies, and performing other duties as assigned are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Previous Housekeeping in a Hotel
  • Prior housekeeping experience or other relevant environmental services experience is preferred.
  • Able to communicate via radio and phone as needed
  • Ability to read and write basic English
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to cleanliness
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace, high-energy and demanding work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and guests.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety related procedures while performing all tasks.
  • Ability to work with chemical cleaners and disinfectants
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Able to work varied shifts, including Weekday, Evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and services assigned hotel public areas to include employee areas in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards.
  • Clean floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Dust surfaces in assigned area.
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages.
  • Clean and maintain lights.
  • Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely. Ensure follow up with guest are performed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and quality service. In the event of dissatisfaction, negotiate compromise in accordance to the “Make it Right” established guidelines.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
  • Follow proper Hotel safety policies and procedures and use safety equipment as needed to ensure the safety of all team members during each shift. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Provides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules. Ensure work area is clean and clear of standing water, debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
