Loan Specialist - Springfield, MO

Veterans United•Springfield, MO

About The Position

First Residential Independent Mortgage is hiring an entry-level Loan Specialist to guide borrowers through the home loan process. The specialist engages with borrowers, learns about their goals, provides guidance, and helps them understand their options so they can move forward with confidence. Most calls are to marketing-generated leads who have already expressed interest, rather than cold calls. Mortgage experience is a plus but is not required; the company provides training and development. The role requires NMLS licensure, which the company can help the employee obtain after starting. The position involves running credit through an online system, helping borrowers find an appropriate loan, explaining loan processes, rates, and terms, and managing paperwork and borrower files through closing. Much of the day is spent communicating by phone, email, and other tools. Business calls may be recorded and reviewed with AI-assisted technology for coaching, quality assurance, compliance, training, and performance evaluation. The specialist also collaborates with internal and external parties and assists the team as needed. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., plus one or two Saturday shifts per month of four hours each. A flex schedule is also described: Monday through Friday between noon and 10 p.m. (hours may vary), with two weekends per month. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and commission, with potential earnings of $45,000–$80,000 per year; top performers may exceed that range through performance incentives.
