About The Position

Alabama Ag Credit is a financial institution headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, with ten offices that service the lower 40 counties of Alabama. The institution provides financing for agriculture, agribusiness, and rural real estate purchases and improvements. With over $1.5 billion in assets, it operates as a cooperative and is part of the nationwide Farm Credit System. The Loan Operations Specialist I position involves reviewing loan documents for accuracy, resolving any discrepancies, managing reports, and handling the preparation and storage of physical and electronic documents. This role also includes originating and posting loan disbursements and customer payments, managing new loan funding in the accounting system, and providing customer service for online banking accounts.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• two (2) years of professional experience in a collateral custodial, finance, banking, or accounting field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews loan documents for accuracy.
• Responsible for documenting, communicating, and taking action to resolve any omissions, errors, or inaccuracies in the loan data.
• Gathers, sorts, and prints reports in accordance with established procedures.
• Responsible for preparing and storing documents in physical and electronic files as required by regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Originates loan disbursements via wire, ACH, check, etc.
• Posts disbursements and customer payments to respective loan accounts, and handles new loan funding in loan accounting system.
• Handles setup and customer service of online banking accounts.
