About The Position

The position of the Loan Closing Coordinator for Specialty Finance is responsible for ensuring adherence to all Bank policies and procedures, all applicable state and federal banking regulations, entity and loan documentation requirements, data integrity and Loan Operations standards, Builder Finance standards, procedures and service levels. Responsibilities also include managing activities of the specialty lending closing team.

Requirements

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.
  • Work related experience must include; Reviewing attorney prepared loan documentations
  • Working knowledge of the Builder Finance lending line of business
  • Working in a loan operations and customer service environment at a financial institution
  • Interpreting documentation and translating to data on the CORE system
  • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services.
  • Working knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and loan policies.
  • Intermediate skills in using computers and core processing, documentation and imaging systems; Microsoft or Google word processing, spreadsheets and Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the Commercial Lending Teams with specific responsibilities related to effectively ensuring quick and consistent communications, consulting and training regarding loan operational processes and workflows
  • Assists lending personnel with providing an exceptional customer experience by working directly with Loan Operations on their behalf to address and/or resolve operational or risk control concerns/gaps (i.e. documentation or payment inaccuracies)
  • Responsible for training new and current lending assistants, credit analysts and loan officers regarding adherence to loan operational processes/procedures, credit policy, and regulatory requirements pertaining to commercial loan requests
  • Perform due diligence and engage attorneys and/or internal loan documentation team members to prepare loan documents according to the credit approval
  • Work directly with RM, appraisers, title companies, borrowers and loan operations to ensure all credit policy, regulatory guidelines, and loan operational risk processes are adhered to prior to approving loan package for closing
  • Work directly with Title Companies to ensure successful closings
  • Perform and/or approve funding transactions
  • Ensure loan packages are submitted to loan operations timely for booking, exception set up, document controls and servicing
  • Perform other duties as defined from time to time.
  • Participate and/or lead in the creation and revision of procedures for new and revised processes and/or systems
  • Performs daily quality review of booked CIF and loan data of loans processed for assigned region.
  • Perform duties described above for other lines of business.
  • The position is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of loan documentation, and is expected to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced loan operations specialists and other staff members.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
