About The Position

As a Loader in the perishable distribution center, you load product onto trailers accurately, safely, and efficiently while supporting warehouse functions. You help ensure pallets are stable for safe transport and are loaded according to load diagrams. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in dock and facility areas and working in a refrigerated warehouse environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to handle and prioritize requests from multiple sources.
• Basic math skills to ensure proper pallet height and counts and to identify or verify pallet ID numbers.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow directions using a headset selection system such as VoCollect.
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet member needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat frequently to continually.
• Ability to grasp, reach, push, or pull items such as product boxes or a hand truck frequently.
• Endurance for continuous, fast-paced work.
• Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures, including freezing temperatures as low as -20°F, and to wear appropriate job-related PPE.
• Ability to use job equipment safely and accurately after training.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience.
• One or more years of warehouse experience.
• Experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate pallets and/or cross-dock product, and verify selections against pick tickets.
• Verify load sheets and submit complete, legible, accurate load diagrams and pick tickets.
• Handle and load product onto trailers to minimize damage.
• Wrap pallets for stability and stack them safely for transport.
• Sweep each trailer before use.
• Check pallet condition and exchange pallets when necessary.
• Promptly report damage and inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain the cleanliness and repair of dock and facility areas.
• Maintain food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
