About The Position

As a Shipping Supervisor, you will help ensure the shipping operation runs efficiently. You will be active on the warehouse floor, walking aisles and docks to coach your team and proactively address opportunities. The work takes place in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment where safety and efficiency standards must be maintained. The role supervises warehouse shipping operations in a cold perishable and freezer warehouse environment and supports team hiring, onboarding, training, performance, and development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to handle and prioritize requests from multiple sources.
• Strong math skills to identify opportunities and justify action-plan recommendations.
• Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to take directions using a headset selection system, such as VoCollect.
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet customer needs.
• Ability to perform frequent-to-continuous sitting, standing, walking, bending, and squatting in a refrigerated warehouse environment.
• Ability to frequently grasp, reach, push, or pull items such as product boxes or a hand truck.
• Endurance for continuous, fast-paced work and ability to withstand fluctuating and freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, such as steel-toed protective footwear, a harness, safety glasses, a hard hat, gloves, and insulated clothing.
• Ability to work around products that may contain food allergens, including fish, shellfish, and peanuts.
• Ability to use job-related equipment safely and accurately after training, such as a computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, and reach truck.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience.
• Two years of related warehouse experience.
• Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
• Experience operating material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse operations, including selection, replenishment, loading, checking, shipping, and safety processes in a cold perishable and freezer warehouse environment.
• Ensure outbound product on the dock and live loads in the yard are club ready and at proper product temperature, and document results in the WMS to protect product quality.
• Ensure trucks are loaded properly and safely.
• Ensure pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately.
• Manage incident and lost-time incident rates by monitoring sanitation and safe working conditions, enforcing safety policies, holding pre-shift meetings, and ensuring proper material-handling equipment use.
• Monitor and audit daily for GMP, COOL, HACCP, and other food-safety guidelines.
• Account for inventory losses and product shrink.
• Review and act on daily and weekly APT and Utilization reports to maintain acceptable performance levels.
• Collect and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions.
• Participate in hiring, including interviewing and candidate selection.
• Support onboarding, retention, and training.
• Conduct team-member performance reviews.
• Provide input to the manager regarding promotions and terminations.
• Cross-train in all shipping team positions to stay current on duties, training, and minimum productivity levels.
