About The Position

The Loader/Excavator Operator safely operates a rubber tire loader, follows safety procedures, and performs material-handling and site-maintenance work. The role includes feeding the plant, loading trucks, stockpiling materials, and maintaining the yard and roadways. The operator also performs equipment inspections and scheduled maintenance, keeps written records of deficiencies, and reports repair needs to a supervisor. Additional duties include housekeeping and properly storing tools and equipment at the end of the workday.

Requirements

Some experience is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to regularly climb heights of 20 feet.
Ability to regularly lift, carry, and/or pull 100 pounds.
Ability to work in a dusty, loud-noise environment.
Must wear required safety equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, respirator, gloves, and similar items as required.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a rubber tire loader with competency and caution, following safety procedures and requirements.
Feed the plant, load trucks, stockpile materials, push up stockpiles, and maintain clean yard and roadways.
Communicate regularly and continuously with the field supervisor about assigned work and specific instructions.
Use hand tools, such as wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, and sledgehammers, to perform daily tasks and maintain or repair equipment.
Perform scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment, including oil and filter changes and other equipment or motor repairs as necessary.
Notify the supervisor of equipment deficiencies or needed repairs.
Inspect equipment and maintain a written log of equipment-related deficiencies.
Maintain worksite housekeeping, including picking up trash and keeping tools in order, and store equipment properly at the end of the workday.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
