About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking an Excavator Operator to join its Specialty Services team. The role operates power-driven machinery to move dirt and other materials, including equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, draglines, front-end loaders, motor graders, and dump trucks. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures and checked frequently.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required.
• NCCCO or NCCER certifications may be required.
• General knowledge of civil construction and excavation.
• General knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevations.
• Complete a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described, including operating equipment, lifting and carrying objects, and climbing into and out of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate power-driven machinery to move dirt and other materials.
• Operate applicable equipment, which may include excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, draglines, front-end loaders, motor graders, and dump trucks.
• Use hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric, and gasoline equipment.
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed.
• Read and interpret load charts.
• Assemble or disassemble equipment or materials at maintenance or construction sites as needed.
• Manipulate equipment on uneven working surfaces when required.
• Perform equipment maintenance such as cleaning, greasing, and oiling.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
• Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
