About The Position

The Load Balancing Engineer is responsible for the overall design of F5 and AVI load balancing and for providing secure connectivity solutions to the enterprise. The role supports business teams and customers through new enterprise solutions, customer connectivity, tactical change management, and cross-organizational consultation. It uses IT service management methodologies to deliver services that meet business needs.

The engineer leads, supports, and designs F5 and load balancing solutions for critical applications running on-premises, across multiple cloud service providers, and in hybrid environments. The position advises business partners on technology platforms and options, resolves complex issues in the Application Traffic Management environment, and provides shift-oriented operational support in collaboration with network operations and engineering teams. The engineer works with business partners and Network Services teams to support 24x7 availability, and adjusts their schedule as needed for planned evening and weekend work.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of engineering experience installing, configuring, and supporting load balancing technologies.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting hybrid load balancing infrastructure, including on-premises and multi-cloud-provider environments, and cloud-based load balancing services such as ALBs and GSLBs.
• AWS and/or Azure cloud network engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of traffic management platforms.
• Network engineering, troubleshooting, and application traffic analysis skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lead a project.
• Enjoys working directly with customers and solving their technical problems.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with F5 and/or Broadcom AVI load balancing technologies.
• Automation experience, such as Ansible or Python.
• Knowledge of routed and routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, and VPNs.
• Enterprise security policy knowledge and best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
• Network certifications.
