About The Position

At the Center for Human Development (CHD), we believe that Care Finds a Way. We connect dedicated individuals with meaningful opportunities to empower and support people in need within our communities. We are seeking an extraordinary, dedicated individual or couple for a truly unique Live-In Shared Living Provider role. This isn't your typical shared living placement. Instead of a participant moving into your home, you will be moving into the participant's beautiful, fully furnished home to act as a primary caregiver and mentor for a wonderful young man.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience working within the special needs or human services community is required.
Must pass standard agency background checks, including CORI and a driving record check.
Dependable, structured, and possessing a deep philosophical commitment to helping individuals with special needs thrive.

Nice To Haves

Prior connection to or knowledge of 'W' is a massive plus.
Experience in working with individuals who have Autism is preferred.
A household without young children is preferred due to the specific dynamics of the home.
Perfect for an ambitious individual, a couple’s team, or someone working in a related field.
This role could perfectly suit someone who works a standard 9-to-5 job (especially a remote/work-from-home position).

Responsibilities

Reside in a large, stunning home with a fenced yard in East Longmeadow.
Act as a primary caregiver and mentor for a wonderful young man named 'W'.
Provide direct care and support, with approximately 54 hours per week of direct responsibility due to existing staff support.
Manage community outings and activities using the provided vehicle.
Maintain a supportive, consistent presence in 'W's daily life.
