About The Position

Jennie-O Turkey Store is seeking a Live Haul Mechanic 3 for their 1st Shift (7am to 4pm) in Barron, WI. This role involves assisting the supervisor with scheduling, managing shop activities, performing medicator repairs, and participating in interviews and farm tours. The position requires documenting employee behavior, conducting new hire safety orientations, and upholding the company's cultural beliefs. The ideal candidate will be able to meet customer expectations, be available for scheduled weekends and holiday hours, pass a CDL physical, work overtime as needed, and possess welding skills along with proficiency in using a band saw and hand tools.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of wood and metal fabrication
  • High school diploma or equivalent/Good oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills managing own workload & maintaining inventories
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with good operating record
  • Understand & perform computer functions
  • Performance results must have met expectations in attendance, dependability, performance, quality, behavior, cooperation & safety
  • No restrictions on repetitive activities of lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, working in hot dusty environment with ammonia present
  • No restrictions on wearing personal protective devices

  • Able to comply and enforce DOT inspections
  • Able to respond at all hours to emergency calls and meet company expectations
  • Ability to use & understand Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Supervisor in scheduling 30 plus employees
  • Scheduling shop activities, supplies and equipment deliveries
  • Medicator repairs
