About The Position

The Litigation Paralegal role at Pracht Injury Lawyers supports our mission by providing dedicated litigation support to Attorney Kerrison Schmutz in our new Charleston office. As a crucial team member, you will manage personal injury litigation cases from post-intake handoff through resolution. By maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring meticulous case management, your work will directly impact the success of our clients' cases, reinforcing our reputation for excellence and compassion in the personal injury field.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal focusing on personal injury cases.
• Proficiency in e-filing, drafting complaints, and organizing complex litigation materials with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong skills in managing multiple cases and deadlines, with a focus on anticipating needs and ensuring comprehensive coverage.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and build relationships with clients throughout their cases.
• Personable and presentable, ensuring a polished in-office presence and representing the firm with integrity.
• Ability to work independently and proactively within the firm's workflows, understanding the nuances of PI litigation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting minors’ settlement matters or cases involving children.

Responsibilities

• Draft complaints, e-file documents, and organize materials for litigation processes, including mediation and depositions.
• Independently manage cases from post-intake handoff through closure, ensuring timely progression while maintaining client communication.
• Proactively manage attorney calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision and nothing slips through the cracks.
• Prepare settlement documentation, coordinate logistics, and oversee the closure process with clients, including disbursement arrangements.
• Build strong rapport with clients, providing empathetic support and clear communication throughout their legal journeys.
• Support scheduled client meetings, occasional walk-ins, and conference room setup for depositions/mediations while serving as Pracht’s professional onsite litigation support presence.
