About The Position

Segal McCambridge is seeking an experienced paralegal to join its Austin team. The firm handles construction defect, premises liability, product liability, and other complex general liability matters. This hybrid position offers flexibility where appropriate.

The paralegal will own assigned files and work closely with attorneys through all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings through trial preparation. The role contributes to moving cases forward while maintaining high standards of accuracy and organization. It offers meaningful responsibility, the opportunity to work on sophisticated litigation matters, and the chance to grow with an experienced legal team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal in civil defense litigation.
• Experience handling Texas matters in both state and federal courts.
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal terminology.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
• Meticulous attention to detail in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Windows applications, e-filing systems, and online research tools.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including interaction with senior-level professionals.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Sound judgment in managing a diverse workload.
• Experience with billing and time entry.

• Paralegal certificate or degree preferred, but not required.
