About The Position

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Houston office. The paralegal will support a busy litigation practice and work on numerous, varied litigation matters as part of large case teams and smaller, fast-paced teams. The role involves close collaboration with legal practitioners and requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of law firm experience.
Understanding of legal terminology and principles.
Technical competency with MS Office applications and several litigation discovery database operations.
Highly efficient document and information organization methods.
Exceptionally practiced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple work streams while remaining focused on deadlines.
Proven attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree and a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program.

Responsibilities

Assist with managing multiple litigation dockets.
Assist in preparing responsive and dispositive pleadings.
Conduct fact research.
Assist with document collection, processing, and production through the internal litigation support department and outside discovery vendors.
Work with eDiscovery platforms.
Request, organize, and review employment and medical records.
Assist in preparing attorneys and witnesses for depositions.
Assist with preparation for filings, hearings, trial, and post-trial appeals.
Attend trials, hearings, and court proceedings.
