About The Position

The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A. is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Special Projects Paralegal to support a diverse range of complex legal matters, primarily focused on real estate and civil litigation. This role involves working directly with the Director of Litigation and the firm owner, managing challenging cases, and delivering exceptional service and results for clients. The firm has been a legal institution since 1992, dedicated to championing the rights of personal injury victims and is expanding its non-personal injury practice.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience (8+ years strongly preferred).
  • Strong background in civil litigation.
  • Experience handling real estate matters is highly valued.
  • Experience with Filevine (or similar case management software) is preferred.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools such as Spellbook and vLex’s Vincent AI to improve efficiency.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactively communicates developments, identifies potential issues before they become problems, and recognizes that effective internal communication and teamwork are critical.
  • Excels at managing multiple priorities, maintaining meticulous organization, and ensuring deadlines and deliverables are consistently met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and accountable, with a proven history of consistently meeting deadlines and following through on commitments.
  • Naturally curious and proactive in asking thoughtful questions, balanced with receptiveness to direction and constructive feedback.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when handling sensitive legal, client, and firm information.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft, and review a wide range of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other critical legal filings.
  • Oversee and maintain organized case files, evidence, and correspondence.
  • Assist with complex real estate disputes, foreclosures, title matters, probate-related matters, and other specialized legal issues.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda.
  • Build strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication.
  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, trial preparation, and key litigation deadlines.
  • Provide executive administrative support to the firm owner, including calendaring, meeting reminders, and related coordination.
