About The Position

Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an established insurance defense litigation firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury and construction defect cases. We are seeking highly motivated attorneys with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience for our Woodland Hills office with the ability to commute to Orange County, surrounding counties, and on occasion to central and northern California for court appearances and depositions. Prior insurance defense experience is required. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, can work independently, and function well as part of a legal team. This is a great opportunity for an attorney looking to gain litigation and trial experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Prior insurance defense experience
• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
• Able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent analytical, writing, and research skills
• Able to work in a team setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Drafting of Case Management Orders
• Court appearances
• Organizing and analyzing case information and providing reports to carriers
• Propounding and responding to written discovery
• Law and motion drafting
• Meeting and coordinating with clients and experts
• Attending site inspections
• Taking and defending depositions including experts
• All phases of trial preparation
• Opportunity for first and second-chair trial experience
