About The Position
Inception Fertility, the parent company of The Prelude Network®, is seeking a dedicated Litigation and Risk Attorney to manage its litigation portfolio, insurance program, and enterprise risk across its North American network of fertility centers. This role involves both resolving current disputes and building a proactive risk management program. The attorney will have direct reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and significant visibility with senior leadership within a growing national network.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active U.S. state bar license in good standing.
- 4–7 years of civil litigation experience, preferably at a firm.
- Hands-on experience managing outside counsel, claims, and insurance coverage matters.
- Working knowledge of coverage lines and the claims-handling process.
- Ability to independently manage a full portfolio.
- Communication skills to advise senior leaders.

Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, arbitration, and pre-suit disputes, including medical and professional liability, employment, and commercial matters.
- Direct outside counsel on strategy, budget, and resolution of legal disputes.
- Oversee the entire insurance program, including professional liability, general liability, D&O, EPL, cyber, and property insurance, managing renewals, coverage analysis, limits, and broker/carrier relationships.
- Handle claims investigation, evaluation, reserving, and settlement negotiations within delegated authority.
- Develop and implement loss-prevention initiatives, policies, and training focused on clinical quality, patient safety, and compliance.
- Conduct adverse-event review and root-cause analysis.
- Provide counsel to leadership on litigation holds, discovery, risk-allocation terms in contracts, and responses to regulatory and licensing board inquiries.
- Report on litigation and risk matters to leadership.
