About The Position

Gentry Locke Attorneys is recruiting two associates to join our Commercial Litigation Practice Group in Roanoke. These positions offer an excellent opportunity for motivated associates to develop their litigation skills while working closely with experienced attorneys on sophisticated and challenging matters. One associate will work primarily with our established towing team, representing towing and recovery companies in a variety of litigation matters. This position offers significant client interaction, hands-on litigation experience, and opportunities to manage cases from inception through resolution. The other associate will support the practice group in a broader manner, handling a diverse range of business disputes and civil litigation matters. This position provides exposure to all phases of litigation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

Requirements

2-4 years' litigation experience
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Virginia (or must become a member promptly if not currently a member)
Knowledge of law and legal practice in order to perform substantive legal functions in client matters
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
Analytical skills necessary to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate by e-mail, in-person and telephone with a diverse group of individuals and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact

Responsibilities

Represent towing and recovery companies in a variety of litigation matters.
Manage cases from inception through resolution.
Handle a diverse range of business disputes and civil litigation matters.
Engage in case strategy, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
Travel extensively locally and throughout Virginia to attend to clients’ needs on legal matters.
Potentially travel to multiple states.
