Remote | Litigation Associate Attorney (BigLaw Firms) — $140–$400/hour
About The Position
This is a specialised, fully remote freelance/contract legal consulting opportunity for experienced Litigation Associate Attorneys with backgrounds at leading US law firms. Consultants contribute professional legal expertise to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives by analysing sophisticated legal documents, developing realistic litigation and transactional scenarios, and reviewing AI-generated legal content. The work spans complex commercial litigation, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, corporate transactions, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and cross-border matters. Responsibilities also include legal research, contract drafting and review, structured legal reasoning, and detailed quality feedback. Prior AI experience is not required. Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party. The opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a US law school.
- Active US bar admission in good standing.
- Professional experience at an AmLaw 100 or similarly prominent US law firm involving complex litigation and transactional matters.
- Strong expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, and sophisticated corporate transactions.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, drafting, or negotiating complex commercial agreements and transactional documentation.
- Practical knowledge of litigation-related legal analysis, contractual interpretation, and sophisticated commercial disputes.
- Ability to interpret complex contractual arrangements and identify nuanced legal, commercial, and regulatory issues.
- Strong legal research, analytical reasoning, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent legal writing skills, including experience preparing sophisticated legal analyses, contractual provisions, and research memoranda.
- Outstanding written communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal reasoning clearly to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate, well-structured legal work.
- Ability to provide precise, constructive feedback on complex legal documents and analytical materials.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple research and evaluation assignments independently.

Responsibilities
- Review and analyse sophisticated legal documents involving commercial litigation, corporate transactions, and complex contractual arrangements.
- Evaluate legal issues arising from mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and capital markets activities.
- Assess contractual obligations, transaction structures, legal arguments, documentation, and potential contractual or regulatory complexity.
- Review, draft, and evaluate sample agreements, contractual provisions, and documentation associated with sophisticated corporate transactions.
- Assess contractual language for clarity, consistency, legal sufficiency, and alignment with established professional practices, and provide commentary on drafting quality and contractual interpretation.
- Evaluate realistic legal scenarios involving data privacy, corporate compliance, cross-border commercial transactions, and multiple jurisdictions.
- Develop realistic legal questions, case studies, and structured scenarios reflecting complex litigation and transactional practice.
- Review and validate AI-generated legal analyses, contractual explanations, and responses to sophisticated legal questions; identify inaccuracies, incomplete reasoning, or insufficient precision.
- Contribute to structured legal evaluation frameworks, decision rubrics, and quality assessment criteria, and provide detailed written feedback through iterative reviews.
- Conduct structured legal research involving corporate transactions, complex commercial matters, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Produce legal analyses, document annotations, research summaries, and structured evaluation feedback.
- Collaborate remotely with legal professionals, technical contributors, project coordinators, and multidisciplinary stakeholders, communicating legal concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support improvements to legal research methodologies, training data quality, and specialised project deliverables.
