About The Position
The Linen Distribution Tech, also described as the Linen Transporter, ensures linen carts are fully stocked and distributes clean linen to hospital departments. The role involves counting and recording terry and linen inventory, picking up soiled linen, fulfilling orders from hospital staff, and maintaining organized linen rooms and carts. The position requires the ability to lift heavy items and push or pull loaded wheeled carts. The employee must follow Crothall Laundry Services policies, attendance and safety procedures, maintain a neat uniform and professional manner, and report issues affecting customer service or satisfaction.
Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and possibly holidays.
- Pass a background check.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to push or pull a wheeled cart weighing 650 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Build clean, neat, organized carts to the standard par level.
- Deliver clean linen to different hospital departments.
- Pick up soiled carts from all floors when working the second shift.
- Take and fill orders from hospital staff.
- Clean the linen room as necessary, including sweeping, mopping, and picking up.
- Open new linen for processing.
- Align and stage carts as needed.
- Count and record terry and linen inventory.
- Keep company equipment clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and universal precautions.
- Report problems or issues related to customer service and satisfaction.
- Follow company handbook and attendance policies, maintain a neat uniform and appearance, clock in and out within five minutes of scheduled start and stop times, and notify the manager when absent.
