About The Position

The Linen Attendant is responsible for sorting soiled laundry safely and efficiently for processing in accordance with equipment specifications. This role involves moving washed laundry to dryers, operating equipment per specifications, and folding laundry according to hotel standards for proper storage. The position ensures a high standard of associate service and product quality, maintaining the cleanliness of the laundry room, linens, and supplies. The attendant must inspect laundry equipment before use, report any deficiencies, and assist with other duties as needed, including room cleaning. Effective communication, adherence to safety policies, and a customer-first attitude are essential. The role also requires acknowledging guests and co-workers and exemplifying the Dolphin Hotel Management Standards of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Able to follow directions to meet the goals of the daily tasks.
  • Good co-worker relations.
  • Ability to set priorities.
  • Basic Mathematic knowledge.
  • The ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials and required tools.
  • Will train on the job.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • 1 year’s hotel housekeeping or similar industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sort soiled laundry safely and efficiently for processing.
  • Move washed laundry to dryers and operate equipment per specifications.
  • Fold laundry per hotel standards and store in the appropriate location.
  • Ensure a high standard of associate service and product quality.
  • Clean laundry, linens, and cleaning supplies per company standards and equipment specifications.
  • Inspect laundry equipment before use and correct any deficiencies.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly laundry room.
  • Assist with cleaning rooms or other duties when needed.
  • Report any maintenance or safety deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all safety requirements of the job and company policies.
  • Respond to supervisor and houseperson requests within 10 minutes.
  • Identify stained or torn laundry and place it in the discard receptacle.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in person and over the radio.
  • Put the needs of the customer first while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Acknowledge all guests and co-workers within 15 feet and speak to them within 5 feet.
