Linear Production Coordinator 3
About The Position
The Linear Production Coordinator supports the Plate Production Coordinator and Planner/Scheduler in coordinating complete and accurate processing of component pieces and plate items. The role helps coordinate schedules, materials, CNC and nesting information, inventory transactions, shop releases, and production priorities to keep work moving efficiently through the production facility. The coordinator works with production and inventory teams to maintain material availability, update project and inventory information, communicate processing status, and address production-floor roadblocks. The position may provide backup to the Plate Production Coordinator and requires adherence to company safety and quality policies, dependable attendance, and demonstration of TrueNorth Steel’s Game Changer qualities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to operate Computer Aided Design/Computer Numerical Control (CAD/CNC) equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to learn company software, including Tekla PowerFab, ProNest, SyteLine, and other systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to perform algebraic functions manually or with digital assistance.
- Ability to logically think through process steps and identify potential issues.
- Ability to work effectively with all departments and other divisions.

Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety and quality policies.
- Assist the Plate Production Coordinator, Planner/Scheduler, and Shop Supervisors in determining production schedules for work centers in the production facility.
- Generate standard BOM reports using priority information provided by the PM, Planner/Scheduler, Plate Production Coordinator, and/or Shop Supervisors.
- Assist the Plate Production Coordinator with purchasing material required for project needs.
- When applicable, program and/or clean up CNC files for linear material using best practices and flag special requirements.
- Package CNC and nesting information and provide supporting paper materials, such as drawings, nesting breakdowns, and reports; clearly identify and separate special requirements such as CVN, and organize materials by schedule priority and intended fabrication order.
- Maintain shop releases and provide daily status updates to the Plate Production Coordinator, Planner/Scheduler, and Shop Supervisors.
- Perform inventory transactions to allocate or issue material promptly and manage reserves to prevent over-buying.
- Work with the Plate Production Coordinator and Inventory Control Manager on stocking levels for linear material.
- Assist the Plate Production Coordinator with releasing reserved material in Tekla as projects are completed or nearing completion.
- Participate in daily and weekly production meetings and update the team on material and processing status.
- Provide day-to-day production-floor support by helping remove roadblocks, organize priorities, submittals, and releases, and balance product lines to minimize downtime and unnecessary labor.
- Assist the local Plate Production Coordinator in balancing workload for each release, including checking the Bill of Materials, finish code, grade, revision level, and Import Log.
- Assist the local Plate Production Coordinator with updating BOMs in Tekla as needed for production and administrative reporting.
- Provide backup to the Plate Production Coordinator during absences to help maintain production.
