The Center for Large Landscape Conservation (CLLC) seeks a conservation-focused Linear Infrastructure Ecologist to advance the science and practice of linear infrastructure ecology, wildlife connectivity, and wildlife-friendly infrastructure. The role provides technical expertise for applied science and conservation products, translates scientific findings into practical knowledge and capacity-building tools, and supports communities of practice working to advance wildlife-friendly infrastructure. Work spans roads, railways, power lines, pipelines, and other infrastructure affecting wildlife movement, habitat connectivity, and ecological processes. The successful candidate will bring a background in ecology, conservation, and scientific writing, ideally with experience in road or linear infrastructure ecology and applied conservation. They will communicate scientific information effectively across disciplines, develop practical recommendations, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with researchers, practitioners, government agencies, infrastructure professionals, and conservation organizations. The role works closely with CLLC’s Linear Infrastructure Ecology Program leadership, staff, and partners to strengthen technical capacity and help ensure scientific knowledge informs infrastructure planning, design, mitigation, monitoring, and management. The position is remote, with in-person work in Bozeman or Missoula, Montana, and hybrid or remote arrangements also available. The preferred start date is February 1, 2027, or earlier. Applications are accepted until the position is filled, with preference given to applications received by November 20, 2026.
