About The Position

The Line Producer is responsible for generating story ideas through research of social media, news wires, websites, and contacts. This role involves identifying impactful news stories that result in provocative, compelling television, and delegating responsibilities to associate producers, assignment editors, and video editors. The Line Producer must produce timely content under heavy deadline pressure, stay current with local events and politics, and attend editorial meetings. Excelling in a highly competitive, deadline-driven environment is crucial. The role requires strong writing skills, including the ability to master tease writing, and sound editorial judgment and attention to detail to ensure standards. The Line Producer will interact with viewers and users on social media sites and must be able to work varying shifts, including nights, overnights, and weekends. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong writing and organizational skills required
• Ability to produce content under heavy deadline pressure
• 3 years’ experience line producing a newscast
• Attention to detail is must
• Ability to collect and analyze data and information accuracy as well as follow through
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Proactive and solutions focused
• Professional appearance
• Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, overnights, and weekend

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business, or a related field, preferred
