About The Position

The Line Leader is responsible for training associates to standardized work, monitoring compliance, and ensuring all necessary documentation and tools are present. This role involves overseeing cell start-up checks, inspecting the first piece to release production, and ensuring the cell meets hourly productivity rates. The Line Leader also ensures accurate documentation and disposal of defects and scrap, and has the authority to stop the line if abnormalities are found. They are responsible for rework, supporting line associates, communicating with other shifts, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment according to 5S principles. This role also involves attending 5S audits, planning and facilitating 5S workshops, updating paperwork, and recommending continuous improvement activities. Additionally, the Line Leader audits and maintains the TPM concept and tracks action plans from TPM workshops and audits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 ~ 3 yrs. Manufacturing Experience
  • Working Knowledge of Production Basics
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Practices and 5S

Responsibilities

  • Train associates to standardized work and monitors compliance.
  • Ensures correct documentation and tools are present.
  • Ensures cell start up checks and documentation is completed.
  • Inspects the 1st piece to release production.
  • Ensures cell is meeting hourly productivity rates.
  • Ensure all defects and scrap are documented and disposed of correctly.
  • Stops line if abnormalities are found and determine if standardized work is clear to allow associates to find the abnormalities.
  • Responsible for rework by analyzing the defect first and performing the repair as soon as possible.
  • Supports line associates when a problem occurs.
  • Communicates with other shifts, exchanges information during shift change.
  • Interacts with peers, shift supervisor, and continuous direction to cell associates.
  • Follows 5S; ensures cleanliness and cell preparation for runs; and empty designated bins at the end of the shift.
  • Attends 5S audits.
  • Plans 5S workshops in area and facilitates the implementation of resulting action plans.
  • Updates and posts required paperwork, charts, and graphs.
  • Communicates with Supervisor and recommends continuous improvement activities.
  • Audits and maintains TPM.
  • Sustainable implementation of the TPM concept.
  • Tracking action plans out of the TPM workshops and audits.
