About The Position

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is hiring a Class A CDL Line Driver to transport freight trailers between terminals or designated meet points. The work primarily takes place during evening and overnight hours and focuses on driving and hooking and unhooking trailers. Drivers operate across the company’s regional service area, which includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and California.

Pay is $0.73 to $0.80 per mile, with an additional $0.03 per mile for triples. Drivers are also compensated for drops, hooks, chaining, fuel, and wait time. The posting lists hourly pay of $31.10 to $34.41, depending on experience. Freight is no-touch.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements.
• At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Clean driving record.
• No DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last three years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, dispatch, and managers.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Ability to chain as needed and work in inclement weather.

Nice To Haves

• Doubles/triples and chaining experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate tractor-trailer combinations between terminals or designated meet points.
• Hook and unhook trailers.
• Adapt driving to inclement weather and varying road conditions.
• Chain as needed and work in inclement weather.
• Meet the company's reliability standard for employees.
• Be available to work weekends and/or nights if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
