About The Position

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is hiring a local and regional line driver to transport freight trailers between terminals or designated meet points, primarily during evening and overnight hours. The work focuses on driving tractor-trailer combinations and hooking and unhooking trailers. The position requires adapting to inclement weather and varying road conditions, and chaining as needed. Drivers may be needed on weekends or nights.

Pay is $0.73 to $0.80 per mile, with an additional $0.03 per mile for triples. Drivers are compensated for each drop, hook, chaining, and fuel, as well as wait time. The posting also lists hourly pay of $31.10 to $34.41, depending on experience (DOE). The role is described as Monday through Friday, night shift, and home daily.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Hold a Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements.
• Have at least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Hold a valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Have a clean driving record, with no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last three years.
• Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/managers.
• Have basic English proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Nice To Haves

• Doubles/triples and chaining experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
