About The Position

Academy Point at Mystic is seeking a Line Cook to prepare delicious, nutritious meals for residents. The cook prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as established Benchmark policies and procedures. The Food Services Director oversees these duties to ensure quality food service. The role offers reliable, schedule-stabilizing hours and is scheduled Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of dietary experience.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines for food service operations.
• Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand in one place for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Culinary Arts training.
• Catering experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all dietary procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, which may include a meat slicer, food processor, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwasher, dumb waiter, and warmer cabinets.
• Assist in establishing the food production line so meals are prepared on time.
• Represent the community positively and with pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals with high-quality presentation and flavor.
