About The Position

Academy Point at Mystic is seeking a Line Cook to prepare delicious, healthy meals for residents. The cook prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as established Benchmark policies and procedures. The Food Services Director oversees these duties to ensure quality food service. The role offers reliable, schedule-stabilizing hours and requires a dedication to quality cuisine and an energetic approach to work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of dietary experience.
Knowledge of dietary procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines for food service operations.
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods; the position primarily involves standing.

Nice To Haves

Culinary Arts training preferred.
Catering experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow all dietary procedures.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including equipment such as meat slicers, food processors, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwashers, dumb waiters, and warmer cabinets.
Assist in establishing the food production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
Represent the community positively and with pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals with high-quality presentation and flavor.
Work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
