About The Position

Convene Hospitality Group at NeueHouse Madison Square is seeking a dedicated, full-time Line Cook to join our Culinary operations team. Set within the historic 1913 Tepper Galleries building in the heart of the Flatiron District, NeueHouse Madison Square is more than a workspace, it's a cultural home for the world’s most innovative creators and thought leaders. As a Line Cook at NeueHouse Madison Square, you will be the engine behind an elevated culinary program that fuels this creative community. Working out of our kitchen, you will support a diverse range of hospitality experiences, from sophisticated daily menus for our members to high-profile brand activations and immersive events. We are looking for a culinary professional who treats every plate as a moment of connection and who thrives in an environment where "meticulous attention to detail" is the baseline for excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year Cook experience in a related role
  • Strong cooking and knife skills required
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
  • Ability to work well with others and have good communication skills
  • Cheerful, presentable, and helpful when dealing with customers
  • Flexible and long hours are sometimes required; rotating work schedule that may include nights and weekends
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

Responsibilities

  • Seamless execution of both refined à la carte restaurant service and diverse catering and banquet-style events.
  • Masterful management of ticket flow, pacing, and station organization to ensure consistent, high-quality presentation across all dining formats.
  • Actively participate in daily food service, exemplifying excellence in portioning, cooking, and timing.
  • Transition fluidly between the fast-paced demands of live à la carte service and the organized complexity of banquet plating.
  • Prepare and cook all menu items—ranging from individual plates to large-format event platters—strictly adhering to recipes to ensure every dish meets our visual and flavor standards.
  • Support the execution of catering orders for meetings and large-scale events, including meticulous prep, timely transport, and precise assembly of banquet-style menus with a focus on punctuality and temperature control.
  • Partner with fellow associates to ensure all kitchen duties, from daily mise en place to post-event breakdown, are completed efficiently within strict time constraints.
  • Follow all NeueHouse steps of service and maintain rigorous standards for sanitation, organization, and food handling across both the restaurant line and event kitchens.
