About The Position

The Line Cook prepares menus and dinner specials according to policies and prep/par sheets, utilizing all leftovers as instructed. They are involved in the preparation of daily specials and can work all stations on the line, assisting others as needed. The role also involves assisting in other production areas when time permits and following all standard preparation standards and line set-up policies. The Line Cook prepares tickets and functions sheets as quickly as possible, ensuring quality and presentation procedures are followed. They are responsible for keeping their station clean and organized at all times and ensuring proper sanitation policies are followed. The position also includes helping in banquet production and plating, maintaining and rotating all products, and communicating with supervisors about product issues. Daily cleaning and rotation of containers, adherence to sanitation policies, and maintaining up-to-date sanitation certification and safety procedures are also key responsibilities. The Line Cook instructs stewards in cleaning equipment in their area.

Requirements

  • Able to lift 50 lbs+
  • Able to stand and work long hours
  • Able to work under hot and stressful conditions
  • Up to date with sanitation certification and safety procedures

  • Cleans and rotates all containers daily
  • Follows all sanitation policies as set by county and state policies
  • Up to date with sanitation certification and safety procedures
  • Instructs stewards in cleaning of equipment in his/her area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
