About The Position

As a Line Cook at Murray’s Cheese, you will prepare and cook the company’s cheese-centric menu alongside a skilled kitchen team. You will execute dishes to recipe and quality standards, maintain food safety and cleanliness at your station, and help ensure efficient kitchen operations. Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, or recent culinary school graduate.
Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, opening, closing, and mid-day shifts.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfort with bending, twisting, reaching, and carrying.
Ability to operate knives, scales, and slicers and handle food safely and efficiently.
Passion for food, a special interest in cheese, and desire to learn and grow as a professional cook.

Nice To Haves

NYC Food Handler’s Certification or ServSafe certification (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items to order according to recipes and quality standards.
Plate dishes with appropriate garnishes and presentation.
Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, and fryers, and ensure it is maintained properly.
Follow NYC Department of Health food safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
Store and handle food properly to preserve freshness and minimize waste.
Monitor inventory levels and use ingredients efficiently.
Collaborate and communicate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders, maintain service flow, and troubleshoot challenges.
Keep stations organized, stocked, and ready for each service.
Manage time effectively to complete duties within established time frames.
Perform other duties as required to support the team and store operations.
