About The Position

Crow’s Bench is Schweitzer’s Premier restaurant, centered around alpine cuisine where food is made from scratch. The Commis Cook (Line Cook) is responsible for executing specific or multiple line stations and their prep during service hours. This role involves food preparation, presentation, and maintaining a clean kitchen. It is ideal for someone with a passion for global cuisine and a love for learning.

Requirements

• English reading and writing
• General Knife Skills
• Food Safety
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Will lift up to 25lbs frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards.
• Worksite is 100% inside and you will be exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards.
• All sensory skills needed.

Nice To Haves

• Idaho Food Safety Certification is preferred
• Line Cook Experience Preferred
• There is a possibility of outdoor work during summer & shoulder seasons.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces.
• Ensures all prep is done according to recipes and portion standards. Work in close liaison with chef/sous chef.
• Cooks menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Assembles dishes with attention to presentation and quality.
• Maintains a clean and organized workstation.
• Follows sanitation and safety procedures to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
• Must be willing to work with both the Back of House and Front of House teams.
• Wash dishes
• Must become knowledgeable of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities & services
• Other duties as assigned
