About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Line Cook for B-Lux Grill and Bar. The role assists the restaurant Chef with preparing and completing food items, preparing high-quality and flavorful meals consistently, and contributing to a satisfying and memorable guest dining experience. The position is described as part of the leadership team, embodying the company’s Promise to Lead with Love by guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences.

Requirements

One year of related progressive experience as a culinary graduate and/or at least one year of progressive culinary experience in a hotel restaurant or food outlet facility, or a related field, is helpful.
Meet any state or local requirement for a certificate upon completion of state-certified proper food-handling certification.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment, including flat grill, pasta well, steam table, browning oven, cheese chopper/grater, steam jacket, ovens, top burners, pizza and dessert cooler, slicer, broiler, steamer, and knives.
Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively.

Nice To Haves

ServSafe® certification is a plus.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food and beverage products consistently according to facility recipes and standards for portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation.
Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and compliance with culinary preventative maintenance programs.
Understand and comply with federal, state, county, and municipal regulations related to health, safety, and labor requirements in kitchen areas.
