About The Position

The Line Cook is part of the dynamic culinary team at this exciting new concept, where your passion for food and dedication to excellence will shine. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our kitchen, preparing and cooking delicious and inventive Chinese and Pan-Asian dishes that delight our guests. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and commitment to food safety will help create a vibrant dining experience. The Line Cook will be responsible for assisting all stations and respective lines as necessary.

Requirements

  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active SNHD Food Handler's card with a minimum of six months before expiration
  • Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook, or equivalent (2 years + in professional kitchen environment)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently through the kitchen
  • Work environment is noisy; must constantly receive and communicate information
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and cook menu items with precision and consistency
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in recipes
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
  • Exercise professionalism and respect when communicating
  • Maintain your work schedule, daily time-punches, and sign-ins to ensure accuracy of timecards
  • Adhere to all house policies and standards
  • Perform proper changeover, opening, and closing duties
  • Maintain accountability to kitchen standards, set prep recipes, and performance procedures
  • Follow all prep recipes and procedures and successfully perform these duties as assigned and/or reassigned by leadership
  • Participate in seamless operation between BOH + FOH staff members, ensuring proper service to our guests
  • Perform to high standards of excellence, execution, and cleanliness
  • Always keep your active SNHD Food Handler's card with you while on property
  • Execute proper health and safety protocols while operating equipment, handling food, storing food, maintaining temperature & time control logs, and sanitizing as dictated by the SNHD
  • Report health and safety incidents and concerns directly to leadership in an accurate and timely manner
  • Contribute to successful SNHD health inspections
  • Actively participate in all scheduled required training sessions
  • Must be physically present at work, in order to perform all functions required of the position
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke
  • Always communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
