About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Line Cook for its Main Kitchen. The role assists the Chef with preparing and completing food items for resort and banquet operations. The Line Cook prepares high-quality, flavorful meals consistently while contributing to a satisfying and memorable guest dining experience. The description also characterizes the role as part of the leadership team, with an expectation to guide, support, and inspire associates in keeping with the company’s Lead with Love promise.

Requirements

At least 1 year of related progressive experience as a culinary graduate and/or at least 1 year of progressive culinary experience in a hotel restaurant, food outlet facility, or related field is helpful.
Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively.
Knowledge of equipment to be operated, including flat grill, pasta well, steam table, browning oven, cheese chopper/grater, steam jacket, ovens, top burners, pizza and dessert cooler, slicer, broiler, steamer, and knives.
State or local law may require a certificate upon completion of state-certified proper food-handling certification.

Nice To Haves

ServSafe certification is a plus.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food and beverage products consistently according to facility recipes and standards for portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation.
Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following culinary preventative maintenance programs.
Understand and comply with federal, state, county, and municipal regulations concerning health, safety, and labor requirements in kitchen areas for associates and guests.
Assist the Chef in preparing and completing food items for resort and banquet operations.
