About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Line Cook for its Main Kitchen. The role assists the Chef with preparing and completing food items for resort and banquet operations. The Line Cook prepares high-quality, flavorful meals consistently and contributes to a satisfying and memorable guest dining experience. As part of the leadership team, the role also involves guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates in keeping with the company’s Promise to Lead with Love.

Requirements

At least 1 year of related progressive experience as a culinary graduate and/or at least 1 year of progressive culinary experience in a hotel restaurant, food outlet, or related field is helpful.
A food-handling certificate may be required by state or local law upon completion of state-certified proper food handling certification.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment, including flat grill, pasta well, steam table, browning oven, cheese chopper/grater, steam jacket, ovens, top burners, pizza and dessert cooler, slicer, broiler, steamer, and knives.
Ability to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively.

Nice To Haves

ServSafe® certification is a plus.
Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food and beverage products consistently according to facility recipes and standards for portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation.
Keep equipment clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following culinary preventative maintenance programs.
Understand and comply with applicable federal, state, county, and municipal health, safety, and labor regulations for kitchen areas, associates, and guests.
Assist the Chef in preparing and completing food items for resort and banquet operations.
