About The Position
Uchiba Austin is seeking Line Cooks to join its kitchen team and help create memorable dining experiences for guests. The role offers wages of $19–$20, based on experience, and opportunities to grow with Hai Hospitality. Uchiba serves quick bites and Japanese cocktails, combining the food, service, and design associated with the Hai Hospitality restaurant group.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate with guests and other employees.
- Detect and identify safety issues and comply with safety guidelines and standards.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to use kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and knives safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors.
- Understand directives and communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers.
- Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and contribute to food service that creates a positive dining experience for guests.
- Communicate effectively with guests, leadership, and coworkers.
- Identify safety issues and follow safety guidelines and standards.
- Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods weighing up to 50 pounds; stock inventory and restock supplies.
- Use kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and knives, safely and efficiently.
- Keep the workspace neat and organized, store supplies properly, and clean surfaces.
- Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs.
- Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and grooming.
- Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements.
