Home Chef, a leading meal solutions company with both retail and online presence, is introducing a new brand, Tempo, which features ready-to-heat meals. Tempo meals are designed to be better-for-you versions of familiar favorites, saving time and promoting a healthy lifestyle. This role follows a 1st shift schedule, working from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with designated days off on Friday and Saturday.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma preferred but not required
  • 6+ months of production/warehouse environment preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with others as a team

Responsibilities

  • Raw food prep, washing, cutting, cooking, cooling, labeling and portioning product for the Ready to Heat (RTH) business.
  • Owning documentation, counts, and tracking progress.
  • Adhering to all floor safety and food safety standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Receiving direction from Production Kitchen Supervisor to fulfill production requirements.
  • Labeling packaging at the standard average rate, and submitting progress made on activities throughout the day.
  • Reading and understanding recipes.
  • Cooking food in ovens or tilt skillets.
  • Preparing sauces and components for ingredients.
  • Transitioning between tasks when needed.
  • Moving hot speed racks or food into blast chillers.
  • Safely using all cooking, cooling, traying, and labeling equipment.
  • Working at a fast pace with strong attention to detail, while multitasking between different recipe steps.
  • Accurately documenting times, temperatures, and other key information for food safety batch tracing & CCP documentation.
  • Using proper measuring utensils to portion ingredients.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Cleaning & sanitizing probes, tables, and other smallwares between recipe steps.
  • Conducting full changeovers when introducing a new allergen to a workspace.
  • Running Clean cycles on Rational ovens, blast chillers, and cleaning out tilt skillets.
  • Following all GMPs while onsite at the facilities, including additional GMPs identified in high care areas where ROP is being manufactured.
  • Keeping work area clean at all times and assisting in EOD clean ups.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines (i.e. proper lifting techniques).
  • Adhering to Food Safety Cardinal Rules.
  • Supporting the efforts of the company to maintain its food safety system (SQF) and quality programs.
  • Being up to date on all alchemy training, including ROP and RTH specific courses.
  • Basic understanding and troubleshooting of kitchen equipment.
  • Documenting food transitions throughout process with careful attention to detail.
  • Tracking and sharing progress of food at all stages.
