About The Position

Jennie-O Turkey Store is seeking a 2nd Shift Line Attendant in Barron, WI. This role involves assisting new employees, training them on all aspects of fabrication, and learning to operate department machinery. The Line Attendant will also be responsible for demonstrating exemplary work behaviors, administering PPE guidelines, and communicating employee progress to the supervisor. Additional tasks and area coverage in the supervisor's absence may be required.

Requirements

Good organizational skills/ability to learn and do all jobs in the department.
Good verbal and written communication skills/ability to speak and write English.
Complete knowledge of machine safety procedures and operations
Good work history/ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to obtain forklift, rider jack PV3R and hand jack license.
Basic math skills
No restrictions lifting 50 pounds.
No restrictions pushing 500-pound v-mags.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience on a department safety committee.
Six months’ experience in the department or equivalent training.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills and public speaking ability.

Responsibilities

Assist new employees.
Continue work hardening and all other training necessary to prepare the trainee for positions in fabrication.
Assist the supervisor in following and documenting a training program.
Learn to operate all machines and scales in the department.
Provide new employees with exemplary work behaviors including attendance, safety and personal hygiene.
Administer directions for the proper care and use of PPE’s.
Communicate to the supervisor as to the progress of the employees.
Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as required.
Help with area coverage in the absence of the supervisor.
