About The Position

We are seeking part/full time (15+ hours weekly preferable) Limited Permit Mental Health Counselors or Psychotherapists that have already graduated to provide mental health counseling to a diversified patient population using evidence-based therapy approaches. The therapist in this position will be responsible for conducting remote mental health therapy children and adults. All direct therapy will be delivered via a virtual platform; therefore the candidate must be comfortable and knowledgeable of teleconferencing applications such as Zoom. This position will work directly with TalkNY clients to provide mental health services/therapy covering a variety of concerns (i.e. anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, relationships, etc…).

Requirements

MHC-LP (or working towards MHC-LP)
Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling
Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance needed upon hire
Ability to work independently as well as communicate emergency situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with various theoretical approaches.
Comfortable and knowledgeable of teleconferencing applications such as Zoom.

Able to work 15-20-hours weekly

Responsibilities

Conducting remote mental health therapy children and adults.
Complete progress notes and updated calendar within 24 hours of time of service.
Complete initial intakes, treatment plans and progress notes.
Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation.
Case management including care coordination, collaborating with referral sources and connecting clients to care.
Participate weekly in mandatory supervision.
