The Light Maintenance Technician will work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment, adhering to "Safety First" expectations. This role involves sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas, potentially requiring moderate supervision. Responsibilities include washing down, shoveling, sweeping, cleaning screens with respirator use, and assisting with maintenance, railroad, and groundwork such as mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal. The technician must be trained to operate various equipment and tools, communicate effectively with supervisors and customers, and maintain adherence to work schedules, including overtime and potential shift work. The role also involves working from elevated areas with fall protection, performing administrative duties, and ensuring compliance with company and customer regulations.

Requirements

0-2 years in industrial cleaning desirable
Ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools
Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment
Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner
Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
Must have working knowledge and be trained to operate the following: skid steer loaders, scissors lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and hand & power tools.

Responsibilities

Work and direct personnel in a team-oriented and safety conscious environment.
Sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures.
Maintain adherence to work schedule and work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shifts as required.
Assist in some maintenance, railroad, and groundwork such as mowing, trimming, landscaping, and snow removal.
Operate skid steer loaders, scissors lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and hand & power tools.
Clean screens and wear a respirator.
Effectively communicate with supervisor and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations.
Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints.
Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer.
Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives.
Meet physical requirements of the job.
Perform assigned tasks in a safely, effective, and efficient manner.
Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
