Cortez - Light Vehicle Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Light Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join the Cortez team. This role involves maintaining all tires on mine equipment, including passenger light vehicles and all off-road vehicles, ensuring correct air pressures and tread depths, inspecting and removing worn or failed tires, and installing replacement tires. The technician will also repair all repairable tires and complete routine maintenance activities to ensure the availability and safe functioning of large mining and support equipment fleets. Additionally, the role requires maintaining shop areas, tooling, and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment, performing daily pre-shift work inspections, and participating in hazard identification processes. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the responsibilities.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required
- Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required
- Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required
- Lift at least 50 lbs. required
- Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model required
- Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record required
- Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level required
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred
- Experience handling tires preferred
Responsibilities
