About The Position

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is hiring a Lift Truck Operator for a 12-hour rotating night shift. The role moves materials between manufacturing lines, storage locations, work-in-process (WIP) areas, and other assigned areas. It also involves documenting storage locations, completing daily lift truck check sheets, packaging goods, handling shipping and recycling materials, supporting inventory counts, and helping maintain a clean, orderly facility. The operator must safely perform assigned duties and comply with applicable OSHA, SAFE, and plant-specific safety requirements.

Requirements

• Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math.
• Ability to pass color blindness and vision tests, including adequate depth perception.
• Familiarity with current computer systems and software.
• Ability to operate a lift truck after training.
• Ability to mount and dismount a lift truck up to 100 times per day.
• Ability to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit for 12 hours per day.
• Completion of yearly lift truck operator recertification.
• Compliance with required OSHA, SAFE, and plant-specific safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Move materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas or other assigned areas.
• Record storage locations on the interplant transfer (IPT) next to the appropriate product numbers.
• Complete lift truck check sheets daily.
• Remove, collect, and properly dispose of shipping materials, including pallets, straps, cardboard, and bolsters.
• Strap and package finished goods and WIP as needed.
• Operate the floor sweeper when needed.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Change lift truck or other PIT batteries as needed.
• Help keep the entire facility clean and maintain a neat, orderly workspace.
• Perform the duties of other lift truck operators when necessary.
• Operate the baler to recycle raw materials.
• Safely complete other assigned duties as needed.
